Faculty reviewer resource page

Why are we doing this?
The aim of the EMDRC review process is to steer research towards our research priorities, to enable good research practices and assist researchers in the research process.  Our reviews focus on conceptual and/or methodological aspects of a research project.  However, in the process we'd like to up-skill our supervisors and higher degree students (PhD) as well, so we can improve overall quality in the research system.  This page contains the resources required to perform the faculty reviews.  Please contact the EMDRC chair if you require more information.

How often will I have to review?
As often as you like.  You can choose to remain anonymous or not (we prefer non-anonymous reviews and simply to recuse yourself if you feel a conflict exists).  You can choose to have your review presented at the meeting or not (we naturally prefer for as many inputs in projects as possible).  All reviews that include a faculty reviewer will also be reviewed by two full EMDRC reviewers.  So there is really no chance that you'll mess up the student's project.  In fact our experience is that new reviewers tend to be very thorough (more so than the EMDRC reviewers in many instances).  It is win-win which ever way you look at it.
